Well it has certainly been a wonderful year filled with great memories, great clients (and a beautiful nephew!)For the month of December I tried to implement at least one thing from January-November.January: Aromatherapy: For the entire month I had a candle burning “eucalyptus spearmint”. Fabulous.February: Proofs of Love: The holidays are such a great time to show other’s how much you care. Chris’s birthday happens to be on Christmas Eve so this year I bought him a Birthday/Christma... read more.
Hi fellow happy people,I must admit after choosing 10 various topics to focus on over the year, I was truly stumped while thinking about what I could focus on in November.I chose Travel because I had planned a weeklong trip to Texas with some friends. We explored everything Austin had to offer including fabulous food & drinks.Yes, I am a bit of a food snob these days. I haven’t always been but over the past few years I’ve been able to appreciate great wine and foods. It was so fun to be able... read more.
For the month of October I focused on my attitude. One of my all time favorite quotes is “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it”. That has always struck me as being very significant.I had some great things to look forward to in October so it made keeping my resolutions very simple! I spent a fantastic fall day with my family in New York, My nephew’s Christening and Chris’s sister got Married!Smile More-As simple as that sounds, sometimes you forget to take a mom... read more.
For the month of September I focused on my still self (see picture above) now a staple in the Jan/Chris apartment.I started out with the lofty goal to meditate once a day, that went out the window on day 8. But hey? 8 days in a row is pretty damn good. HeheThis was the original goal:Week 1 - 5 minutesWeek 2 - 10 minutesWeek 3 -15 minutesWeek 4 - 20 minutesWhile I didn’t complete the goal to do it every day I managed to do it a few times a week and the results were amazing.Meditation is not for everyon... read more.
Hello Friends!I hope everyone had a wonderful summer and are ready to tackle the fall! I personally have mixed feelings, as I never feel the summer is long enough. I could use a few more days of 80-degree weather :)For the month of August I focused on passion. I did some soul searching to figure out what I really felt passionate about. What I discovered was Wedding design. Don’t get me wrong, I do love the coordination aspect of the planning but what really challenges me is design.I brainstormed vario... read more.
Money affects everyone’s lives in different ways. Some people have a lot of it, some people work hard for it and others don’t give much thought to it. But one thing’s certain; the world can’t go round without it.This month I tried to understand and make some changes in my relationship with money. Below you’ll find three things I focused on:Buy Needful things: I’m the kind of person that never thinks to buy things like shampoo & conditioner in advance. Oh no, I wait un... read more.
Hello Friends! (ironically the theme of the month!)I touched a bit on Friendships last month but this month I focused a lot of time and energy into maintaining and strengthening my friendships. Below are a few things I focused on:Remember Birthdays:For the past 10 years my group of Friends has remained fairly consistent. I always knew when I could plan on seeing my various groups of friends based on the way everyone’s birthday’s fell. The year kicks off in February and goes straight through to D... read more.
For the month of May I chose to focus on getting serious about having fun! Have you ever thought about what you really find to be fun? In the beginning of the month I really had to think hard about what that meant for me. Fortunately I’m lucky that I truly enjoy everything about Weddings, so I opted to focus on some personal things that create happiness. Here’s what I came up with:Get Creative: Being creative is a main source of fun for me, as you probably remember from my year of DIY projects i... read more.
Hello All,Gretchen’s month of April was focused on parenthood and since I don’t have any kids, (my kitties don’t count) I focused on growing myself both professionally and personally.I focused mostly on trying new things and thinking of ways to improve what I was already doing. There is always fear in trying something new but the happiness and accomplishment you feel afterwards is worth it.Professionally: I spent time thinking of ways to improve Something Social, here are a few things I&rs... read more.
Hello All,This month I strayed from Gretchen’s March month to “Aim Higher” and focused mostly on my personal health. In January I focused on recharging my batteries, February I focused on adding a bit more love and this month I focused on adding more healthy aspects into my life. For everyone that knows me I love food that’s not healthy or good in any way for you. My daily diets consist of pizza, cheese fries, penne and vodka, caramel latte’s, wine and my favorite, Chinese food.... read more.
