As some of you may know my New Year’s resolution was to read a new book and venture into a new craft project each month and share my findings with you!
February’s book was Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah. This was an excellent book that followed the lives of two best friends Tully and Kate for over thirty years. Kristin Hannah’s writing style doesn’t make you relate to the main character but rather makes you feel as if you are the main character. You feel what they feel; you love what they love. It hits on all the important things in anyone’s life; friends, family, relationships, careers and most of all how love ties all of these things together. This was a wonderful book and I’d highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
As for my DIY project I made chalkboard dipped wine glasses. I was inspired to make these because of a girl’s night my friends and I had planned. What’s a girl’s night without wine right? I thought they’d be a nice keepsake for everyone and they were quite a hit!
Step 1: Simply wrap the masking tape around the stem of the wine glass where you’d like the spray paint to end
Step 2: Separate the wine glasses; place them on top of newspapers and preferably do this outside
Step 3: Spray the glasses from the masking tape down and make sure to stay about 10 inches away from the glass
Step 4: Wait about 30 minutes and give them a second coat
Step 5: Let them dry overnight and viola! You have lovely chalkboard wine glasses for any occasion!
