A Year of Happy-Love & Patience

By Something Social, Posted in Life

Happy Friday & the last day of February! This month for my happiness project, I focused on Love & Patience. Gretchen also chose this topic & I figured it was perfect for mine as well. No, not because it’s the shortest month, well maybe :)If you ask any of my friends prior to a year ago, I was the type of person that never wanted to live with someone before I was married. “What could possibly be so different?” was one of my key phrases. Well I sure am glad that I changed my mind... read more.

Hi Friends,This year instead of reading a book each month and sharing it with you I’m going to read one book throughout the whole year. The book I’m using as a guide is The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin. Gretchen tracks a year of her life focusing on a few specific things each month in the hopes to make a big difference to her overall happiness. To quote Gretchen, “People are more likely to make progress on goals that are broken into concrete, measurable actions with some kind of stru... read more.

December's Book & DIY

By Something Social, Posted in DIY Projects

Hello Friends! This month I read a girl power book which made me want to take over the world! (Ok maybe not the world but you get it) It's Sheryl Sandberg's book Lean In. A lot of times I have a hard time getting through books that aren't novels but I really loved this book and made sure I finished it. As well as the entire Divergent series. But let's stay on topic here.So Lean In is geared toward the working woman and helps put a lot of things into perspective. Sheryl shares stories from her life, supp... read more.

November Book & DIY Project

By Something Social, Posted in DIY Projects

Hello & Happy official Holiday Season! Woohoo!I read a few books this month but my favorite by far was Beautiful Day by Elin Hilderbrand. She never disappoints. I probably loved this book so much because it was based on a Wedding! :) The premise was an interesting one. It was about a deceased mother who had planned a wedding for her daughter (before she was engaged) to the very last detail. Now the wedding is upon us and there are twists and turns, but it is filled with a beautiful love story, strong fa... read more.

Hello & Happy November!Last week I checked off a bucket list item and took a weeklong road tip through California! So here's a list of neat places I stumbled upon along my travels!I started my trip flying into San Francisco and heading to Monterey. Hands down, Monterey was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. While d... read more.

October Book & DIY Project

By Something Social, Posted in DIY Projects

Hello Friends & Happy almost November! This month we had two fabulous weddings & lots of beautiful weather! I hope it stays this warm in November! For this month's book I read Changing Lanes by Kathleen Long. It was exactly what I needed after last month's book. It was a feel good novel based on a 30 year woman who was a big fan of planning out her life (Which obviously I loved & related to!)  but when all her plans fall apart you learn how strong she really is. I love books like this, t... read more.
